We're on our way to Greensboro, North Carolina. They play the film "February 1" and I'm almost in tears. The film was an inspiring story on how four black men sat at a lunch counter, where only whites were allowed. They knew that what they did would be controversial, but they still did it to achieve a change. This film is a perfect representation of how violent and segregated it was in the 1960's. People of color were constantly treated less than human. Those four men wanted to change that, and want the same rights as the whites. This film made me realize that my emotions are going to be on a roller coasters, but I am excited for this trip to provide me with knowledge that are left out of history textbooks.
